• Owners since 1980 are Tom Acker and Designer Duval Baynard Acker
• Duval is a Certified Master Kitchen & Bathroom Designer
• She was the first Certified Kitchen Designer in SC in1983, Charleston’s only for 7 years!
• Duval is a Professional Member of ASID
• Duval passed the NCIDQ Examination in 1999 (Certificate Number 015075) and is the only person in South Carolina qualified with NCIDQ is both a professional ASID member & a CMKBD
• Duval served on the ASID Carolinas Board of Directors most years from 1998 – 2010
• She was ASID Carolinas Chapter President in the 2005-2006 term
• Duval serves on two national ASID Committees, and on a Task Force for NCIDQ
• Currently, Duval is a member of the national ASID Legislative Codes & Advisory Council.
• Duval earns triple the required number of educational hours annually
• Duval created rooms in the 2002, 2003, 2004 & 2011 ASID/Symphony Designer Showhouses in Charleston
• She has received many industry awards for outstanding design and service.
• Their work has been featured publications  including Good Housekeeping, Better Homes & Gardens, Kitchen & Bath Design Ideas and many volumes of Kitchens by Professional Designers.
• Active with family first, Duval also volunteers and serves several local charities & their family’s Church. Duval & Tom escape to their cottage in the rural North Carolina Foothills for relaxation.
